There are many health and economic benefits to being a vegetarian in these modern times. Many of the vegetarian health benefits stem from a decreased risk of getting many different diseases and disorders such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and hypertension all of which are associated with eating meat as opposed to just vegetables and fruits. Many of these diseases are very common and they are also very easy to prevent making vegetarianism seem like a good idea, since the vegetarian diet aids in limiting the intake of items that cause these issues.
